Sundance has perfected the oil sludge recovery process using heat and centrifuge technology to separate hydrocarbons from contaminants found in different oil sludges. Currently in operation at the Parabo Facility, this process can be used to treat sludges derived from tank bottoms, crude oil pits, skim oil, and any other source of oil containing high amounts of basic sediments and water.

All recoverable oil is removed from these sludges and purified to below 1% BS&W at a rate of over 1,000 barrels per day. The water removed by this process is treated and evaporated, while the solids are dried and disposed of in the facility’s solids disposal pits.

In an ongoing commitment to the environment, Sundance is currently removing and reclaiming all material stored in its permitted BS&W pits, as well as any material brought to our facility that can be treated. This process eliminates the storage of BS&W in open pits, as well as the potential problems associated with open oil sludges.
